Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, visited ‘Branko Radičević’ primary school, where the representatives of the Administration for Police Education held a lecture for eighth grade students whose topic was ‘Safety risks on the Internet’.       Minister Lukač said that the children were already familiar with the issues they encounter when using the Internet, and that the police significantly contributed to this, since in the first semester of the current school year, the total number of 370 lectures was held in 193 schools on the territory of the Republic of Srpska and these were attended by more than 13,000 students, 750 teachers and a few hundred parents.      He pointed out that it was necessary to timely teach children to recognise the dangers they may encounter on the Internet and inform them about the consequences of abusing narcotic drugs, peer violence and juvenile delinquency. Minister added that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior had been implementing activities whose aim was preventing juvenile delinquency for several years. These activities showed very good results since juvenile delinquency was reduced by 25% compared to the previous year.         Minister Lukač invited all institutions to contact the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in order to check certain person, e.g. in case they see a suspicious person near school or they are about to employ a person to work with children.        The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is continuously implementing the Curriculum of preventive activities for the purpose of preventing juvenile delinquency in the second semester as well, both in primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Srpska.
