POLICE OFFICER TRAINING ON CYBERCRIME

      Yesterday and today, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with OSCE Mission to BIH, held training for police officers in the field of cybercrime, realised within the project of OSCE Mission called ‘Building capacities for experts within the system of criminal justice for suppressing cybercrime and crime related to it’.      The training was realised within the third – final phase of project implementation, and the aim is for the police officers working in crime police sectors to improve the knowledge they apply while solving criminal cases in the field of cybercrime. Special attention was dedicated to the topics of abusing children online as well as the manners of collecting multimedia contents online by using certain software solutions and applications.       In the previous phases of this project, a police officer from Crime Police Administration was educated to become a trainer in the field of cybercrime, and a training curriculum for police officers training related to this topic was drafted and adopted.      The project ‘Building capacities for experts in the system of criminal justice for countering cybercrime and crime related to it’ has been implemented from November 2017, and it was financed by the Government of Germany.        The project is realised by the OSCE Department for transnational threats in cooperation with the representatives of countries in the region through their field offices in those countries.
