The Republic of Srpska

        Today, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, had a working breakfast with the Commander of the US Special Operations forces in Europe, Major General Kirk Smith.       Minister and Major General discussed the relevant security issues and cooperation of the US Special Operations forces with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, in particular.        The participants of the meeting mutually supported the continuation of cooperation and presented the suggestions for its improvement in future.      The Ministry of the Interior had had a long-standing cooperation with the Liaison Team of the US Special Operations forces through which several trainings were realised with the aim of strengthening capacities of the SAU for providing response in all types of crisis situations.        In  the past, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the US Embassy Office of the Defense Attaché, SOFLE Team, had realised the following trainings: ‘Breacher training’, ‘Patrolling’, ‘Sniper training’, ‘Rural tactics’, ‘Urban tactics – close combat battle (CQB)’, ‘Rifle training’ and ‘Vehicle interdiction’.
