The Republic of Srpska

      Today, at Kozara Barracks, the members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SATU) of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the Office of the Defense Attaché of the USA Embassy to BIH and State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), performed the Joint Exercise with the aim of improving the capacities of special forces for providing response to all types of emergency situations.        The exercise was attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Darko Ćulum; Defense Attaché of the USA Embassy to BIH, Mr Michael Tarquinto; the EUFOR representative, Brigadier General, Mr Gábor Horváth; and the commanders of the special forces of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and SIPA.      The aim of the aforementioned exercise, which was preceded by training, was to improve the capacities of special forces for providing response in all types of emergency situations, as well as the improvement of their mutual communication and joint action.The total number of 30 members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, 30 members of SIPA and six members of SOFLE (Special Operations Forces Liaison Element of the USA).       The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has a long-standing cooperation with SOFLE of the USA, which resulted in numerous trainings whose aim was strengthening the capacities of the SATU, and it will be continued in future.
