      The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Darko Ćulum, attended today at the Trg Krajine in Banja Luka the presentation of police tactical and technical equipment, which was organized on the occasion of 4th April – Police Day. During the presentation, the citizens had the opportunity to see the equipment and vehicles the police officers use in their work.        As a part of the presentation programme, the members of support units from Banja Luka and Prijedor performed a demonstration exercise, and the Police Orchestra played music in a stroll from the Banski dvor Cultural Center, along Veselina Masleše Street towards the Trg Krajina.        Minister Lukač stated that the police work and its organization have been significantly improved over the years, which was clear from statistical data on the work results in the field of countering various types of organized crime, drug abuse and corruption.        The Minister pointed out that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior continues to rejuvenate its staff, emphasizing that the competition for the enrollment of new class of cadets at the Police Academy Banja Luka has been announced. The Minister added that over the past few years, along with the 325 young police officers who are about to complete their education, approximately 800 young police officers have been employed with the MoI.
