THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA POLICE DAY

        Today, the 4 April, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior marked the Police Day and 27th anniversary of establishing the Ministry. Several events were organised for the occasion.       The first of these was the memorial service for 782 fallen members of the Ministry of the Interior and laying wreaths at the Central monument in front of the building of the Ministry. The wreaths were laid by the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Dragan Lukač, and Mr Darko Ćulum, the Police Director, followed by the President of the Republic of Srpska, Ms Željka Cvijanović, the Chair of the National Assembly, Mr Nedeljko Čubrilović, the Prime Minister, Mr Radovan Višković, and Mr Milorad Kojić, and the representative of the Chair of the BIH Presidency, Mr Milorad Kojić. Additionally, the wreaths were laid by the delegation of the Republic of Serbia, headed by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Nebojša Stefanović, and the delegation of the Main Administration of the Russian Federation Ministry of the Interior for the City of Moscow.             Another event was the opening of the connecting road to the M16 highway next to the Training Centre in Zalužani by symbolically cutting the ribbon.             The central event was held at this Centre, and it started by the rousing anthem and submitting the report to the President, Ms Željka Cvijanović. Also, the hymn of the Republic of Srpska Police was performed for the first time today.               In his speech, Minister Lukač said that 4 April, the Police Day, was one of the most significant dates in the history of the Republic of Srpska. He pointed out that the job of a police officer was difficult and responsible, and yet that working with the Ministry was a matter of pride and honour for its members. ‘Investing in the police is investing in the future and security of all citizens of the Republic of Srpska’, Minister Lukač said.             After expressing her congratulations to the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the President Cvijanović said that the Republic of Srpska and its police force were tightly connected and that it was important for the Republic of Srpska Police to continue developing in future.             The Repu
