The Republic of Srpska

     The Association ”Women Police Officers Network of the RS Ministry of Interior – RS WPON” in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and within the project Dialogue for the future, implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO in partnership with the BiH Presidency, are implementing the project "Suppression of minorities’ discrimination and violation of rights of Roma children".       In the framework of the project was held an educational training for the students of the Faculty of Security Sciences on the premises of the Police Training Administration. It was held by the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Association "Romani Girl – Romani Ćej" from Prnjavor. The topics included the Romani history, tradition and customs, psychological approach to the victims of the Roma population as a vulnerable category, the phenomena and the consequences of prejudice, particularities of the criminal fields in which the Roma most often appear as victims or perpetrators, as well as the improvement of cooperation between the police and the Roma community.      The project objective is suppressing discrimination and raising the level of personal security of Romani men and women with emphasis on the protection of Roma children who are victims of asocial phenomena and crime such as trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation and begging, by raising awareness of police officers and the local communities.       The Association ”Women Police Officers Network of the RS Ministry of Interior – RS WPON” in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior will continue the project implementation in the upcoming period through education of Police Academy cadets, police officers and the street campaign in several cities on the Republic of Srpska territory.
