      The representatives of the Women Police Officers Network of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior (WPON) met today, in Banja Luka, with the delegation of the OSCE Mission, headed by the special representative of the OSCE Chair for issues of gender equality, Ms Mellane Verveer.      At the meeting, the topics related to gender equality and participation of women in the activities of the Ministry were discussed. The aim of the OSCE Delegation’s visit was mapping the situation of gender equality with the accent on the role of women as a factor of peace and security.            Furthermore, the protection of women from all forms of violence, issues of economic and political participation of women and the possibility of integrating gender perspectives at all levels of governance were also mentioned at the meeting.       The representatives of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior informed the OSCE delegation about the participation of women in the activities of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, as well as with the most significant campaigns implemented recently.
