The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Darko Ćulum, attended today in Banja Luka the presentation of police vehicles with built-in devices for automatic vehicle speed measurement – interceptor police car, which will be on the roads of the Republic of Srpska as of tomorrow. The devices were purchased with the purpose of increasing traffic security, i.e. preventing and sanctioning over-speeding.      Director Ćulum said these devices can operate in several modes. The interceptor may operate if motionless when it measures the speed of approaching and departing vehicles, and after that the data is processed and sent to the address of the driver who was speeding. Intercepting car may also operate on the move, also measuring the speed of all vehicles – approaching and departing, and subsequently process the data and send it to the driver’s address. The third mode is also on the move, when police officers control the speed and sanction the driver on the spot.       The devices for automatic vehicle speed measurement have been purchased by the Traffic Safety Agency as a part of the Programme of expenditure of funds collected from insurance companies and branch offices of insurance companies from FBiH, and devices have been installed into the vehicles Skoda Super and Hyundai i30, which were presented today in Banja Luka.
