The Republic of Srpska

     Today, in Training Centre in Zalužani, two armoured multifunctional ‘’Despot’’ vehicles, which would be regularly used by the police, were handed over between the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, and General Manager of ‘’Tehnički Remont Bratunac’’ Company, Mr Slavenko Ristić.      Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, especially the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, thus received new potential and new strength. It was now prepared to intervene with these vehicles in all situations facing them and in accordance with law – regarding countering terrorism and organised groups, but also to assist the population in case of emergency.        General Manager Ristić stated that this armoured vehicle, among other things, may be used for patrolling and reconnaissance missions, as a command vehicle, for transport and support of special operations units, for counter-terrorist and anti-armour fight, for border and territory control, for surveillance, and as an ambulance vehicle.
