The Republic of Srpska

In the period from 22-24 October 2019, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is organizing a training on Cryptocurrencies and their use for criminal activities and money laundering, with the purpose of exchanging experience and know-how in the area of virtual currencies and the consequences of abusing this form of payments.  The training was carried out by the experts from the Ministry of the Interior of Austria and Slovenia, and attendees included the representatives of the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority, judicial institutions in BiH and the representatives of the RS MoI. The training participants were first introduced with the basics of cryptocurrencies and forms of payments with this type of currency, as well as their significance in terms of law enforcement, forms of criminal offences and the measures for their suppression. Particular emphasis was placed on monitoring and disclosing this type of criminal offences and practical examples, the objective of which is better understanding of manifestation of this form of crime.
