The Republic of Srpska

        The representatives of the Association ”Women Police Officers Network of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior (RS WPON)” presented themselves as panellists at the conference ”Institutional Integration of Gender Equality in the Police Forces of the Region”, that is being held in Belgrade.         The RS WPON representatives presented both former and the present activities of the Network regarding the integration of gender equality and strengthening the role of women in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, where they have enjoyed full support over the past few years.      They particularly emphasized great results in terms of empowering women in the security sector, along with improvement of activities in preventing and countering gender-based violence. For these reasons, since the Association was the first one of this kind in the region, they gained attention of several police agencies in the region, in terms of the model and manner of Association organization, the manner of function, implemented projects and other activities of the Network.     The Conference in Belgrade was organized by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Swedish National Police Office in Serbia.
