The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior Dragan Lukač visited the Municipality of Kostajnica today, where he and Prijedor Police Administration Head Sretoja Vujanović, Kostajnica Police Station Commander Biljana Marin and the Head of Kostajnica Municipality, Nikola Janjetović, discussed the repair of the Police Station facility damaged by the earthquake late last year. Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would assist the Municipality of Kostajnica. "The RS Interior Ministry will allocate some funds for roof repair and some other damage, and the Municipality will participate in the repair of the police station facility, which is very important for this area," Minister Lukač said. Municipality Head Nikola Janjetović expressed gratitude to the Minister for the visit and the assistance offered. The topic of discussion was both the personnel and material technical equipment of the Kostajnica Police Station, as well as the establishment of video surveillance in the Municipality of Kostajnica, which Minister Lukač said would be an insight into where the cameras are most needed. "We will make an agreement with the municipality where we will establish the video surveillance that is needed because it guarantees much greater security," Minister Lukač concluded. The security situation in the area of the Prijedor Police Administration, to which the Kostajnica Police Station belongs, was described as satisfactory. "We have concluded that there are no events that significantly jeopardize the security of citizens," said Prijedor Police Administration Head Sretoja Vujanović. He also stated that the situation of the migrant crisis is under control and that police officers of the Prijedor Police Administration regularly visit the border area where the migrants are transiting.
