The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, condemned today's brutal murder of a police officer, Radenko Bašić, in the Prijedor settlement of Pećani. Minister Lukač, who is currently on an official visit to Israel, said that the Ministry lost a great professional and a great man. Furthermore, he emphasised that this attack was the attack on the entire Republic of Srpska Police and that Ministry would do all within its power to find the perpetrator of this criminal offence.  The Minister expressed his sincere condolences to the Bašić family. Minister Lukač said that all available resources of the Ministry of the Interior were engaged, from the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie Unit to the regular police forces, all with the aim of finding the perpetrator of this brutal crime. He reminded that the investigation was led by the Administration for Countering Organized and Serious Crime in cooperation with the Prijedor Police Administration. The Minister urged citizens to cooperate and to contact the nearest police station in case they have some useful information related to this incident, or to call 122.
