  The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, announced today in his address at the round table on the topic ”Police and Education” the intention of the Ministry to establish the Secondary School of Internal Affairs, with the aim of improving the work quality of police officers and compensate the number of the necessary police officers. The round table on the topic of police education was organised on the occasion of the 4th April, celebrated as the Republic of Srpska Police Day, and it was opened by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the Minister of Education and Culture, Ms Željka Stojičić, in the new premises of the Administration for Police Education within the Training Centre in Zalužani.             The main purpose of the round table was to exchange experience and ideas for improvement of the present police education.             Minister Karan stated that the aim was to increase the level of present trainings, and that education was the key element for the future and successful operation.             ”We are facing with the retirement of a large number of police officers over the next few years, and the capacities of the Police Academy are not sufficient to educate the necessary number of police officers and provide the necessary quality. That is the key reason we decided to establish the Secondary School of Internal Affairs, along with the Police Academy”, said Minister Karan.             As he said, the RS MoI gives great importance to investments in police facilities in the Republic of Srpska, and in material and technical equipping of all RS MoI units, especially the special ones.
