The Republic of Srpska

  Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited the Janja Police Station in Janja, near Bijeljina. The state of security on the territory covered by this police station was assessed as satisfactory, with an emphasis on the effective cooperation and communication with the local population. During the meeting with the management of the Bijeljina Police Station and Uniformed Police Administration, they reiterated the importance and necessity for the establishment of a video surveillance system of public areas on the territory of Janja with the aim of prevention and effective police work. The visit to police station was an opportunity for the minister and director to officially congratulate the former commander of this police station, Ms. Tatjana Kerović, on her retirement. Ms Kerović spent three decades working within the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and she was the commander of this station for the last eight years. The Minister and the Director wished her long and happy retirement.
