The Republic of Srpska

Mr Siniša Karan, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, met today with Ms Laura Lungarotti, the Chief of the International Organisation for Migration in BiH and Sub-Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans. They discussed the activities undertaken in the field of illegal migration, with particular emphasis on the project "Improving Migrant Assistance and Supporting Local Communities in the Republic of Srpska", which IOM is implementing in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. This project was completed in November 2022. Nevertheless, due to the efficient results achieved in this cooperation and interest in continuing the project, the project was extended for another year, i.e. until the end of 2023. Both Karan and Lungarotti expressed their satisfaction with the activities performed within this project, as well as their determination to continue and intensify joint activities in this area.
