Today in Trebinje was marked the 31st anniversary of establishing the Third Detachment of the Special Police Brigade and, on this occasion, memorial service was held and wreaths were laid at the memorial for the fallen members of the unit. Wreaths at the memorial were laid by the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, who stated that the Ministry of the Interior was one of the first and most powerful institutions of the Republic of Srpska, at the moment of its establishment. The Minister also emphasized its role in the Homeland Defence War. He stated that 782 members of the Ministry gave their life for the Republic of Srpska, and expressed his eternal gratitude and stated that their sacrifice shall never be forgotten. The President of the War Veterans’ Association of the Third Detachment of the Special Police Brigade, Mr Dejan Bodiroga, said that they would always remember the members of the Detachment, and the hardest moments when they lost their lives in the battle for the Republic of Srpska, and extended the message of peace. The President of the Republic of Srpska War Veterans’ Organization, Mr Radan Ostojić, said that the people who gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska must never be forgotten. On this occasion was organized a competition in shooting, and the winners were the members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the RS MoI.
