The Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, met today with Chief of Mission of IOM Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans, Ms Laura Lungarotti. At the meeting, the project ‘Improving assistance to migrants and support to local communities in the Republic of Srpska’ was discussed, which has proved to be very successful, especially in the aspect of providing support to local communities. Minister Karan pointed out that migration was no longer a crisis, but a phenomenon, and therefore, it was necessary to cooperate with the countries in the region. Additionally, further joint activities of IOM and our Ministry were also discussed at the meeting, and cooperation so far was assessed as excellent.
