            The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, visited today together with the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, the Police Station Prnjavor and the City Administration in Prnjavor, and on that occasion they discussed the security situation on the city territory.             After the meeting with the Mayor of Prnjavor, Mr Darko Tomaš, Minister Karan stated that the security station in this local community was good for a long while. ″The Safe City project had major contribution to the favorable security situation after the installation of 50 surveillance cameras in the city. This practice has proved as very good in the majority of municipalities and cities″, said Karan, adding that it also contributed to a decrease in the number of the committed criminal offences.             The Mayor of Prnjavor, Mr Darko Tomaš, said that they also discussed further improvement of their cooperation, which had started four-five years ago after the development of the IT system of video surveillance which contributed to better security cooperation.             ″It is our intention to continue the joint cooperation in improving the technical and material capacities for the regular work of our police officers. It would be beneficial to build the new police station. Our proposal is to build it next to the new facility for firefighters″, said Tomaš.             ″The local community and the citizens do not know the issues that are under the police competence, which means that they perform their assignments professionally and responsibly, thus contributing to the overall life quality of all its citizens″, said Tomaš.
