The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, visited today together with the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, the Srbac Police Station and the Municipality of Srbac and assessed that the security situation on the territory of this municipality was favorable, and that the cooperation between the Municipal Administration and the Police Station was good. After the meeting with the Mayor of Srbac, Mr Mlađan Dragosavljević, said that they discussed the construction of the new Police Station building, having in mind that the existing building was old no longer functional in terms of police duties.  ″In cooperation with the Municipality, we will initiate extensive preparations in order to start the construction of the new police station building in Srbac this year″, said Minister Karan. The Minister stated that they also discussed the problems the Srbac Police Station was facing with, particularly the lack of police staff. ″During the past several years we had an unnatural departure of police staff, and those were the police officers who participated in the Homeland Defence War and fulfilled the legal requirements for retirement. Several hundred police officers of the Ministry leave the service for retirement every year″, said Karan. He added that the Ministry constantly educated new police officers at the Police Academy and the High School on Internal Affairs and that the existing class of the cadets would be employed at the Srbac Police Station. The Srbac Municipality Mayor, Mr Mlađan Dragosavljević, pointed out that they were ready to initiate the activities of developing the conceptual design of building the new police station, after obtaining the building permit.
