         On 1 April 2024, at 4.30 PM, the police officers from Višegrad Police Station arrested a person whose initials are M.P, from the town of Donji Vakuf, based on suspicion that they transported citizens of Syria.           Namely, as a part of their planned activities within the implementation of measures for countering illegal migration, on the territory of Višegrad, police officers stopped and controlled a vehicle, brand ‘Opel Zafira’, driven by the M.P. On that occasion, they noticed there were six persons in the vehicle who had no personal identification documents, but identified themselves as citizens of Syria, and three of them were minors. The prosecutor on duty of the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH has been notified on the event, and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs was also informed on the event on the same day, since the detected persons are going to be handed over to the Sarajevo Field Office of the Service.            Further activities on investigating and documenting all circumstances related to the criminal offence ‘People Smuggling’ is in progress, and upon completing the investigation, a report is going to be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH.
