The Republic of Srpska

             The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited today the police stations in Čajniče, Rudo, Novo Goražde and Kalinovik, and held a meeting with the management of the Foča Police Administration and the commanders of the abovementioned police stations during which they discussed the security situation on the territory of the police administration, evaluating it as favorable.                 During the visit to the Rudo Police Station, it was concluded that the cooperation with the local community was good, and that the video surveillance study was completed, which should further improve the security situation in the municipality, considering the fact that Rudo represented a transit area between Montenegro and Serbia.                 They discussed the security situation in Čajniče and concluded that the most common issue in this region were illegal logging and timber theft.                 They also visited the Novo Goražde Police Station and during the meeting held there, it was confirmed that the cooperation with the municipality of Novo Goražde was excellent. The topic of the meeting with the Municipal Mayor, Ms Mila Petković, were the manners of motivating young people to stay in these small towns in peripheral areas.
