The Republic of Srpska

Within the project ‘Enhancing Protection of Public Spaces and Critical Infrastructures in the Western Balkans’, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior organised a two-day interactive workshop in Banjaluka. The experts from EU countries in the field of critical infrastructure protection and the members of the interdepartmental Working Group for implementing the Law on the security of critical infrastructures in the Republic of Srpska exchanged knowledge and experiences in the field of evaluation of national processes in identification of critical infrastructure and their compliance with the Critical Entities Resilience Directive. Upon recognising the significance of critical infrastructure as well as the current events in the region and at global level, the Republic of Srpska Government was the first in BIH to adopt the Law on the Security of Critical Infrastructures in 2019. The aforementioned project is realised by a consortium of EU countries headed by France, and Croatia, Italy and Greece. The budget of the project is € 4 million and duration is three years. It was initiated by the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations for the users in the Western Balkans.
