The Republic of Srpska

      In cooperation with the Crime Police Administration, police administrations in Prijedor, Banja Luka, Bijeljina and Zvornik, the members of Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and Gendarmerie, and monitored by the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH, the police officers of the Administration for Countering Organised and Serious Crime of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior are implementing the operation whose code name is ‘Vertigo’, focused on solving the cases of criminal offences committed in the field of organised crime       In their activities so far, the police officers arrested eight persons whose initials are as follows: an M.P, D.T, M.B, and R.B. from Novi Grad; an N.N. and S.B. from Banja Luka; a V.R. from Bijeljina; and an S.L. from Zvornik; the search for one person is ongoing.      The persons are suspected of committing the criminal offences ‘Organised crime’, Article 250 from BIH Criminal Code, related to the criminal offences ‘Illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs’, Article 195 from BIH Criminal Code, ‘Smuggling of persons’, Article 189 from BIH Criminal Code and ‘Money laundering’ Article 209 from BIH Criminal Code, in the period from 2020 to 2024.      By the Order of the Court of BIH, searches are in progress on 11 locations on the territory of the Republic of Srpska that are used by the suspects. So far, several pieces of weapons have been found and seized, as well as more than BAM 100,000, vehicles and boats used for smuggling, business documentation, planners, computers, data storage devices, mobile phones, and other items that may be used as evidence.     Within the implementation of the operation ‘Vertigo’, cooperation was also realised with Europol and police agencies from the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Italy.
