The Republic of Srpska

           The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, visited today together with the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, the Banja Luka Police Administration where they held a meeting with the head of the Police Administration, Mr Đurica Vukelić. He informed the Minister on the security situation on the territory under the jurisdiction of the Banja Luka Police Administration, which was assessed as favorable, despite all the security challenges.         The heads of the Uniformed Police Administration and the Administration for Protecting Persons and Buildings, along with the commanders of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie, also attended the meeting. It was concluded that the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would undertake all legal measures and actions with the aim of protecting the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and their property and all the tourists who will visit Banja Luka during the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays. All those who, in any way, try to jeopardize their safety, will be punished.         Having in mind the current situation in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior will continue to implement the measures and actions in accordance with its legal authorizations, with the aim of maintaining public peace and order and uninterrupted functioning of citizens in their activities.          We once again warn the organizers of public assemblies to refrain from behaviors that could jeopardize the safety of citizens and remind them that they will be held responsible in case of violation of legal regulations.        Minister Karan stated that the meeting represented a continuation of the good practice of visiting police administrations, which would be continued in the upcoming period in order to assess the situation on the ground and to become acquainted with the challenges that police officers face in their daily work.
