The Republic of Srpska

      The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior presented their activities at the seminar of the Council of Europe in the field of implementing the Recommendation 4 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the protection of journalism and safety of journalists and other media actors.           The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was the first police in BIH to establish the records of reporting threats and attacks on journalists in 2017, and has been implementing the activities on the sensitization of police officers in their relations towards journalists ever since. Therefore, the representatives of the Ministry shared their experiences with the representatives of other police agencies in BIH and prosecutor’s offices, who started these activities this year.         The seminar was organised in Sarajevo for the representatives of prosecutor’s offices and police forces who are appointed contact points for safety of journalists. Within the seminar programme, the campaign of the Council of Europe ‘Journalists matter’ was also presented.
