The representatives of the Interministerial Working Group of the Government for the Implementation of the Law on Security of the Critical Infrastructure in the Republic of Srpska from the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport and Communications met with experts from the Regional EU Project "Enhancing Protection of Public Areas and Critical Infrastructure in the Western Balkans." The working meeting was held at the Project’s office in Zagreb, focusing on identifying critical infrastructure entities in the transportation and communications sector. EU experts in critical infrastructure protection shared their experiences with the members of the Interministerial Working Group on the Implementation of the Law on Security of Critical Infrastructure in the Republic of Srpska, discussing how to most effectively and rationally implement the identification process. Recognizing the importance of critical infrastructure protection as well as the current developments in the region and the world, the Republic of Srpska Government, was the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the Law on Security of Critical Infrastructure in 2019 and form the Interministerial Working Group, which is engaged in its implementation.             The abovementioned Project is implemented by a Consortium led by France, Croatia, Italy, and Greece with a budget of 4 million euros and a duration of three years. It was launched by the EU Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Policy to assist Western Balkan countries in strengthening the protection of public areas and critical infrastructure.
