JOINT TRAINING OF THE SAU AND THE POLICE OFFICERS OF THE HUNGARIAN COUNTER-TERRORISM CENTER (TEK)

            The police officers of the Counter-Terrorism Centre of the Ministry of Interior of Hungary, who are in an official visit to the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka, are conducting joint exercises and training with the members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAU) of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska on the premises of the Training Centre in Zalužani. The exercises are focused on cooperation and professional development of police officers executing the most complex tasks and assignments.      The training focuses on medical training, close-quarter combat tactics, experience exchange of police dog handlers, and the response of a mechanized team in tactical situations, and they are all focused on countering terrorism and reactions to such criminal offences.         These activities will continue in the upcoming period at various locations with the aim of professional development and the exchange of experiences between police officers of the Republic of Srpska and Hungary.          As mentioned earlier, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Siniša Kostrešević, and the Director General of the Counter-Terrorism Centre of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Hungary, János Hajdu, signed yesterday in Banja Luka Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Police Cooperation between the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Counter-Terrorism Centre of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Hungary, with the aim of prevention and detection of criminal offences related to terrorism.          The cooperation includes countering terrorism, exchange of information and best practices, technical and scientific cooperation, as well as cooperation in organizing joint exercises and trainings of the police officers executing the most complex tasks and assignments.
