MINISTER KARAN AND EUFOR COMMANDER: SECURITY SITUATION STABLE

The security situation in the territory of the Republic of Srpska is favorable and stable, and the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is fully implementing its legally defined responsibilities. This was the conclusion of today's meeting between the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Siniša Karan, and the Commander of the EUFOR Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Florin-Marian Barbu.

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Siniša Kostrešević, also attended the meeting. Participants noted that cooperation between EUFOR and the Ministry of the Interior remains strong, and they emphasized their commitment to continue the exchange of information of mutual interest.

They also discussed the security measures planned by the police officers of the Ministry of the Interior in connection with the upcoming commemorations in Bratunac and Srebrenica. Both the Ministry and EUFOR confirmed they had no information suggesting any potential security threats related to these events.

Minister Karan reiterated the commitment to take all necessary measures and activities to ensure peaceful and dignified commemorations of the suffering of Serbs in Bratunac and Bosniaks in Potočari near Srebrenica.

During today’s visit to the Ministry, Commander Barbu also visited the Training Centre in Zalužani, where Director Kostrešević presented the facilities and equipment used by the members of the Ministry of the Interior.
