The Republic of Srpska

The cooperation of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Union of the workers in the field of internal affairs needs to be raised to a higher level, especially in the aspect of protecting the members of the Ministry and improving their work conditions and status in general – this was concluded at the meeting of the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the newly elected President of the Union of the workers in the field of internal affairs, Mr Nebojša Prodanović. 

At the meeting, the representatives of the Union praised the increase of salary for the police officers, and introducing the salary supplement for the challenging work conditions, which represents a significant improvement and stimulation for police officers. 

Minister Karan expressed the commitment to improve the position of civil servants and non-civil service staff in future, considering the specificity and the scope of activities they perform.

The President of the Union, Mr Nebojša Prodanović, pointed out that the Union supported the efforts of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska regarding the protection of the constitutional order and following the laws and other regulations of the Republic of Srpska. 

He added that, in future, the Union and the Ministry would focus especially on additional protection for the police officers whose job was difficult and challenging.

Finally, it was agreed that it was necessary to adopt a new special collective agreement that would regulate the rights of the employees of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
