The security situation on the territory covered by Trebinje Police Administration is at satisfactory level. The conclusion the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, reached during their visit to Herzegovina was that, in future, there would be more activities focused on equipment procurement both for police officers and police stations.

Today, they visited police stations in Nevesinje, Gacko and Berkovići, and it is a plan for them also to visit police stations in Ljubinje and Bileća, and the HQ of Trebinje Police Administration. They are also going to visit the works on the construction of the new facility in Gorica, a borough in Trebinje – the facility for the Station Police Division Gorica and Trebinje Gendarmerie Unit, whose construction should be completed next year. 

‘My task is to help the police officers improve their work. In future, I am convinced that we are going to find the permanent location solution for Gacko Police Station, since the current one is not appropriate. It is alarming that the security situation in traffic is getting worse, and therefore, our Ministry, as well as other entities, will have to intensify their activities in order to deal with it’, Minister Budimir pointed out. 

Finally, Minister was informed that, on the territory of Gacko Municipality, the system of video surveillance of public spaces was in the test phase, and that this year, there were no criminal offences committed on the territory of Berkovići Municipality.
