Good organization of the police contributes to a favorable security situation, as evidenced by the fact that the crime rate on the territory covered operationally by the Prijedor Police Administration has decreased by 11.5% this year. Police officers are successfully dealing with the challenges of the migrant crisis, which is very important for overall safety and citizen security, especially considering the vicinity of the border with Croatia, stated Željko Budimir, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior.

During his visits to police stations in Kozarska Dubica, Kostajnica, Novi Grad, and Krupa na Uni, together with the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Siniša Kostrešević, Minister Budimir was informed about the security situation, organization of work, and police capacities. He announced that in the upcoming period, efforts will be made to improve working conditions and to provide the equipment necessary for police officers to effectively carry out their duties.

“These visits are organized with the goal of getting acquainted with the situation on the ground, in order to see what can be improved and what can be done to increase our efficiency and to upgrade the work of police officers,” Minister Budimir said.

He praised the local police for their results in preventing drug trafficking and the actions organized in the recent period.

The Minister and the Director will also visit police stations in Oštra Luka, Kozarac, Omarska, and the Prijedor Police Administration, where they will have meetings with the management of the administration.
