One of the conclusions of the meeting of the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, and the managers of Mrkonjić Grad Police Administration was that the security situation on the territory covered by this Police Administration was at satisfactory level.

‘The Police Officers are giving their best. I would like them to be provided with the best work conditions possible, as well as the material-technical means, which includes new equipment, vehicles, armament, and these are the focal points of our activities in future’, Minister Budimir said after visiting the police stations in Ribnik, Jezero and Šipovo with the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.

On this occasion, the Minister and Director also observed the works on the reconstruction of Mrkonjić Grad Police Administration, whose value is about BAM 780,000.00. Minister said that he was encouraged by the fact that the works are soon to be finalized. He said that it was extremely important for the works on Šipovo Police Station to be expedited so the police officers have appropriate conditions for work. 

‘The video surveillance coverage on the territory of Mrkonjić Grad PA is acceptable in the manner that it contributes to the prevention of perpetration of criminal offences. It is our tendency to install even greater number of cameras with the aim of prevention, in accordance with the agreement with local communities, since it has provided great results so far,’ Minister Budimir said. 

Minister Budimir said that he noticed that, just like in other police administrations, it is also in this administration that the number of traffic accidents had increased. 

‘That is a rather complex issue. It is not just the issue of the police responsibility and competence’, Minister said. 

The Head of Mrkonjić Grad Police Administration, Mr Milan Milekić, said that, during the meeting, he presented the fact that this Administration lacked 19 police officers for job posts that require secondary school degree, and added that ten interns worked there.
