The Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited today the Training Centre of the Ministry of the Interior in Zalužani, where they held a meeting with the Head of the Training Centre, Mr Vedran Simić. During the visit, they discussed the Center’s operations and capacities. The Training Center serves not only as a unique facility for training of police officers but also as the headquarters for several operational administrations of the Ministry.

Head of the Centre informed the Minister that since its establishment in 2017, the instructors in the Centre have conducted training for approximately 6,200 police officers – from alpine training, firearms training, sniper training, training for the mounted police, tactical training, crowd control, VIP protection, training for the members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ) and the Gendarmerie. In addition, the Center provided training for the representatives of other law enforcement agencies and members of the BiH Armed Forces. 

They also discussed the improvement of the specialist training, as well as the necessary conditions for their implementation.

Minister Budimir was briefed on ongoing activities to maintain all facilities, grounds and infrastructure across all 70 hectares of the Centre complex, as well as on the activities on ensuring the safety of the premises.
