MINISTER AND DIRECTOR VISIT ZVORNIK POLICE ADMINISTRATION – FAVOURABLE SECURITY SITUATION

During the meeting that was held today between the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, the Republic of Srpska Police Director and the management of the Zvornik Police Administration, it was concluded that the security situation on the territory of this Administration is favourable. 

Together with the President of SNSD, Mr Milorad Dodik, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Alen Šeranić, the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Higher Education, Mr Siniša Karan, the Director of the company ”Autoputevi Republike Srpske”, Mr Radovan Višković, the officials of the Ministry used the opportunity to visit the final works on the reconstruction of the Milići Police Station building, a project into which the Republic of Srpska Government has invested BAM 400,000.  

“The police is the foundation of the society. People trust the police. It is up to the government to ensure the best possible conditions for their work,” said the President of SNSD, Mr Milorad Dodik.

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, stated that the purpose of his visits to police administrations was to assess the condition of the facilities, vehicles and all other resources used by police officers. 

He noted that the project of reconstructing the Milići Police Station started during the mandate of Mr Siniša Karan as the Minister of the Interior.

“Our objective is to repair and reconstruct the majority of facilities that do not meet the needs of police officers, so they can perform their duties effectively,” said Minister Budimir, adding that the improvement of working conditions remains a key priority for the Ministry.

Minister Karan expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the building has been renovated, emphasizing that during his time heading the Ministry of the Interior, the strategy focused on training and education, upgrades of police equipment, and the reconstruction of police facilities.

He added that the new Police Administration building in Pale will be opened soon.

The Director of the company “Autoputevi Republike Srpske”, Mr Radovan Višković also welcomed improvements in the status and working conditions of police officers, emphasizing that significant funds have been allocated for police equipment owing to the efforts of the leadership of the Republic of Srpska.

“We are well aware of the fact that, when you do not have an army, the police represents the only guarantor of security,” said Mr Višković.

Earlier today, Minister Budimir and Director Kostrešević also visited police stations in Srebrenica, Kozluk, Bratunac, Vlasenica, Šekovići, and Osmaci.
