Today, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior celebrated 20 years since the publication of the first volume of "Bezbjednost, policija, građani" (’Security, Police, Citizens’) journal, in which 600 papers written by domestic and foreign authors and co-authors have been published to this day.

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, stated that the domestic issues of professional and scientific journals were of crucial importance for the development of science and highlighted the fact that the Ministry of Interior would continue to support this journal.

He said that 20 years of journal’s continuous publishing indicated liability and that there was enough staff capable of writing professional and scientific papers, especially in the field of criminalistics which demanded contemporary approach.

Minister Budimir added that the Ministry would work on publishing journal’s digital counterpart which would be accessible to wider audience.

The head of the Administration for Police Education, Mr Mile Šikman, journal’s editor-in-chief, stated that this important newspaper of the Ministry of Interior contained articles from the fields of law, security, criminalistics, and police studies.

"Not only do the papers published pay the contribution to professional and scientific community, but they also help the wider audience familiarize themselves with the most current achievements in these fields," Šikman stated.

He added that the papers were accepted by the terms of science and profession and that only those with positive reviews were published.
