The Republic of Srpska

The security situation across the Republic of Srpska remains stable. The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior announced it would undertake all measures and actions within its authority to ensure a safe environment for the early presidential elections scheduled for November 23, 2025.

During the meeting that was held today, the Headquarters (HQ) of the Ministry of the Interior ”Elections 2025”, chaired by the RS Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, defined the planned activities for the election day and the period after the elections.

So far, 97 pre-election assemblies have been held, and there were no incidents recorded.

We also inform the citizens that, on occasion of the early elections on November 23, the locations of the Ministry for issuing personal documents will be open over the weekend as follows:

• on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 7:00 to 15:00
• on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 7:00 to 19:00

On abovementioned dates, the citizens will have access to the following services: ID cards, permanent and temporary residence and unique designated number (JMB). They will also be able to take over the finished documents.

In addition, for the purpose of undertaking security measures and actions related to the holding of early elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska, the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska issued:

• An Order prohibiting traffic for freight vehicles over 3.5 tons of total weight on all public roads in the Republic of Srpska in the period from 00:00 on November 23, 2025 until 06:00 on November 24, 2025;
• An Order prohibiting the transport of explosive materials and weapons and military equipment in road traffic within the territory of the Republic of Srpska, except for the transport of pyrotechnic devices for scheduled fireworks, in the period from 00:00 to 24:00 on November 23, 2025.

The Ministry headquarters, police administrations and police stations will not issue permits for the transport of explosive materials, weapons, or military equipment during the abovementioned period.
