SMOOTH AND PEACEFUL ELECTION DAY IN THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

Election Day in THE Republic of Srpska passed peacefully. Between 07:00 and 19:00, the following reports were recorded at polling stations across the Republic of Srpska:

  • At 12:57, M.P. from Laktaši reported that she was unable to vote at the polling station in Laktaši because someone had already voted in her name. The on-duty prosecutor of the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office was notified of the incident.

 

  • At 16:10, the president of a polling station in the Banja Luka neighborhood of Kuljani reported to a police officer a suspicion that several individuals outside the entrance to the facility were lobbying citizens to vote for a particular political party. Police checks established that J.T. had been distributing sandwiches to all citizens. The on-duty prosecutor of the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed and ordered to submit a report on the undertaken measures and actions.

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior HQ “Elections 2025” continues to monitor the situation and undertake measures and activities to maintain a favorable security environment in the Republic of Srpska on the day of the early elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska.

In order to implement security measures related to the early presidential elections, a traffic ban for freight vehicles over 3.5 tons total weight remains in effect on all public roads in the Republic of Srpska until 06:00 on November 24, 2025. Until midnight, a ban on the transport of explosive materials, weapons, and military equipment in road traffic across the Republic of Srpska is also in force, except for the transport of pyrotechnics for scheduled fireworks displays.

During this period, the Ministry’s headquarters, police administrations, and police stations will not issue permits for the transport of explosive materials, weapons, or military equipment.
