At the Training Center of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska in Zalužani near Banja Luka, 49 members of the Gendarmerie who have completed basic training were promoted today.

Mr Željko Budimir, Minister of the Interior, pointed out that this was the 11th class of Gendarmerie members and welcomed the ongoing renewal of the Gendarmerie staff.

“These young men show strong commitment to the work they do, and our task in the Ministry in the coming period will be to help them with better equipment, better working conditions, and improved material and technical resources,” said Minister Budimir to the reporters.

He commended the management of the Gendarmerie units, stating that they have shown, through the selection process, that they have selected the right people, those with whom it would be possible to work in the future. 

“I am pleased that the Training Center of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is demonstrating that it has the capacity for us to train our members independently, both in basic and advanced training which will start in the end of January,” Minister Budimir emphasized.

The promotion ceremony was also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.
