Members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated today in Banja Luka in a ceremonial parade marking the Republic of Srpska Day and the Day of Veterans of the Homeland Defence War, held under the slogan “Hearth will sustain us.”

Around 2,700 police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated in the parade, along with representatives of the civil and public sectors, associations, and organizations from the whole territory of the Republic of Srpska.

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, emphasized that one must not forget that the Republic of Srpska is a legacy of heroes.

“Today, the Republic of Srpska marched before you and the heroes who defended it. The war veterans marched, as well as students and pupils of the High School of Internal Affairs,” Minister Budimir said.

He added that the homeland must be loved, as it is the only way to preserve it.

“Therefore, thank you for showing your love for the Republic of Srpska by taking part in this event. This parade is not held to spite anyone; it celebrates who we are,” Budimir stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the “brothers from Serbia, who are always by our side.”

“Let us hope that the 21st century will be one not of Serbian suffering, but of our unity. Long live the Republic of Srpska!”, Minister Budimir concluded.

The ceremonial parade was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, Director of the Republika Srpska Police, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, numerous representatives of public, social, and political life from the Republic of Srpska, Serbia, and the region, as well as a large number of citizens of the Republic of Srpska.

Traditionally, this year’s parade was also concluded with the song “Pukni Zoro,” performed by the police officer Aleksandar Dulić together with the Police Orchestra of the RS MoI.
