The Republic of Srpska

 

Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, visited Istočno Sarajevo, where he and the management of Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration discussed the security situation on the territory covered by this Administration and activities they undertake with the aim of countering crime. 

Head of Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration, Mr Branimir Šehovac, informed the Minister that the crime rate on this territory in 2025 decreased by 10.4% compared to 2024, and that the total rate of solved criminal offences was 91.4%. The number of recorded minor offences in the field of public order and peace was also in decrease by 11.7%.

Mr Šehovac said that the number of persons who died in traffic accidents increased in the previous year, despite the repressive and preventive measures the police officers implemented on the field. 

Minister Budimir praised the efforts of the PA to make the Sarajevo-Romanija region secure for the lives of all citizens, and expressed his support to all activities undertaken to this end.
