The Republic of Srpska

Today, at the Administrative Center of the Republic of Srpska Government in Istočno Sarajevo, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, and his associates, met with the INL Director for Europe and Asia, Mr. Mark Tervakoski.

At the meeting, Mr Kostrešević proposed the modalities of future cooperation with the aim of improving the capacities of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior for countering transnational organized crime, terrorism and corruption.

The participants of the meeting agreed that the fight against the aforementioned forms of crime was in their joint interest, and Director Kostrešević stressed that it is only through partnership that the capacity building for prevention, investigation and prosecution of such criminal offences can be realized.

Finally, Director Kostrešević noted that the capacity building of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and other police agencies in the sense of trainings, technical support and equipment, was also one of the priorities and its realization has been a key part of improving cooperation.
