The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the municipal mayor of Srbac, Mr Mlađan Dragosavljević, laid today the foundation stone for the construction of the new building for the Srbac Police Station. 

The new police station building will cover approximately 1,040 square meters, and the value of the investment, financed by the Republic of Srpska Government, is approximately BAM 2.5 million. The Municipality of Srbac provided the land and all necessary documentation required to obtain the construction permit.

Minister Budimir thanked everyone who attended this important event.

He emphasized that the new building would significantly improve the working conditions for police officers at the Srbac Police Station, while also enabling better and more efficient services for the local population.

Budimir noted that this was in important event for the municipality of Srbac and expressed his expectation that construction will be completed within the planned timeframe.

“The Ministry is currently in the stage of equipping and carrying out infrastructure works so that our members and police officers can perform their duties in the best possible conditions. As a community, Srbac has demonstrated its readiness to support the preparation of such a project together with the Government of the Republic of Srpska, to secure funding, and to obtain all the necessary documentation and permits for its construction,” said Minister Budimir, adding that the project will also contribute to strengthening the overall security situation in the Republic of Srpska.

Mr Dragosavljević pointed out that today’s event marked not only the laying of the foundation stone for the new building, but also the foundation of additional security, trust, and stability for all citizens.

“This is not only an important construction project, but also a step toward providing better working conditions for police officers, which the new building will ensure,” Dragosavljević stated.

The ceremony was also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, other senior officials of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, as well as representatives of local authorities in Srbac.
