The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior organized a ceremony today at the Training Center in Zalužani to mark the Day of the Secondary School of Internal Affairs, which was re-established three years ago following the initiative of the Ministry, by a decision of the Republic of Srpska Government. In this way, the tradition of secondary police education that was interrupted in 2021 has been continued.

The Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Željko Budimir, emphasized that the educational system of the Ministry has successfully bridged the staff turnover between the generations.

“With each new class, it is confirmed that the decision made in March 2023 to re-establish the Secondary School of Internal Affairs was the right one. Together with the existence of the Police Academy, this has prevented the problems that could have arisen from a generational shift,” said the Minister, reminding that from 1992 to 2001 there was a Secondary School of Internal Affairs where 1,139 students were educated.

Minister Budimir expressed his satisfaction with the work and functioning of the school, as well as with the administration and teaching staff.

“These are students who enter our system after graduation. Many of them continue their education at universities. They will also attend the Military Academy, the Faculty of Criminalistics and Security Studies, the Faculty of Law, and other faculties. We expect them to become the backbone of future leadership staff,” he emphasized.

The Director of the Secondary School of Internal Affairs, Mr Aleksandar Miladinović, stated that the school has grown alongside the Ministry and that its work was renewed three years ago.

For this occasion, the students prepared a diverse cultural and artistic program, demonstrating their numerous skills and talents.

Today’s ceremony was also attended by the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, colleagues from the educational systems of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, as well as other guests.
