The Training Centre in Zalužani was visited today by around 260 children of school and preschool age from the Banja Luka area, who had the opportunity to become more familiar with the work of police officers, as well as the equipment and resources they use in their duties.

These activities are organized on the occasion of April 4th – Police Day, with the aim of bringing the police profession closer to the youngest and developing trust between citizens and the police.

The Training Centre was also visited today by the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Siniša Kostrešević, who joined the children in the organized activities.

“We have shown primary school students our capacities and training here. I think they find it interesting. We started with the helicopter unit, and they also saw horses and dogs,” said Minister Budimir, adding that the Ministry of the Interior promoted the police profession in that way, with the intention that children feel that police officers are their allies and friends.

Over the course of three days, more than 800 children of school and preschool age visited the Training Centre.
