While implementing intensified activities focused on countering criminal offences in the border zone, in Draksenić village, near the border with Croatia, the police officers from the Administration for countering organized and serious crime, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and Prijedor PA arrested a citizen of Montenegro based on suspicion that they committed the criminal offence ‘People smuggling’. 

During the control and search of the freight motor vehicle, in the cargo space of the vehicle, among the pieces of wood, the police officers detected 38 persons as follows: 25 citizens of the People’s Republic of China, 12 citizens of Turkey, and one citizen of Iraq. 

Along with the report on the committed criminal offence, the arrested person is going to be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH for further proceedings, and the Office for Foreigners’ Affairs is also informed on the event.
