The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited today the Headquarters of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior ’’Srebrenica 2026’’, which manages the implementation of security measures for the commemorative gathering in Potočari. 

Minister Budimir was informed about the implementation of all planned and operational activities that members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior were undertaking in every aspect of their work to ensure the commemorative gathering proceeds peacefully, safely, and with dignity. Activities presented include maintaining a favourable security situation, protecting all participants of the gathering, citizens, and their property, as well as ensuring the uninterrupted traffic flow in the area operationally covered by the Zvornik Police Administration. 

Minister Budimir emphasised that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior took all planned, organisational, and security measures in a timely manner to ensure that this gathering proceeds without incidents. 

‘’Our priority is maintaining the security of all citizens and participants of the commemorative gathering. Police officers are performing their duties professionally, responsibly, and with dedication, and I am convinced that all planned activities will be implemented in accordance with the highest standards of the police profession," Minister Budimir said.

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, emphasised that a sufficient number of police officers had been deployed to undertake measures and actions within their competence during the commemorative gathering, and that the Headquarters was continuously monitoring the situation on the ground and coordinating the activities of all organisational units involved in the security operation. 

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior urges all participants of the commemorative gathering and citizens to respect the instructions of police officers, thus ensuring the gathering is conducted in a peaceful, secure, and dignified manner.
