The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, hosted today a reception for the retired members of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska, on the occasion of April 4th, which is celebrated as the Police Day.

During the reception, Minister Budimir presented pensioner police identification cards to the retired members of the Ministry, emphasizing that the Ministry does not forget its former members who contributed to the development of the Republic of Srpska, first during the difficult times during the war and immediately after it, and later during the establishment and strengthening of institutional systems.

“The doors of the Ministry are always open to them. We meet regularly, share information about working conditions and new activities of the Ministry, and look at ways we can support them,” said Minister Budimir.

He wished the retired officers good health in their retirement and encouraged them to continue contributing to the system if needed.

The retired member of the Ministry, Mr Zoran Krajinović, said that it was always a pleasure to return “home”, to the place where he once worked.

“We remember the good times with our colleagues. We are glad to see that the Ministry is continuously progressing, both in terms of employee status and equipment. This provides greater security for our citizens,” Krajinović said.

One of the youngest retired members, Mr Siniša Vujaković, added that he was pleased to receive the invitation and that it meant a great deal to be remembered by the Minister and the management of the Ministry.
