The Republic of Srpska

A memorial service and wreath laying ceremony were held at the Central Monument to the Fallen Members of the Ministry of the Interior from the previous Defensive-Patriotic War, on the occasion of Police Day, 4th April.

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Siniša Karan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Savo Minić,  the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs Željka Cvijanović, paid tribute to the fallen members. In addition, the tribute was paid by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, the delegation of the Republic of Serbia and the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the City of Moscow, payed tribute to the fallen.

Wreaths were laid by the families of the fallen members of the Ministry of the Interior, The Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment, and the delegation of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, the Veterans’ Organization of the Republic of Srpska, the Republic Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians of the Republic of Srpska, the Republic of Srpska Association of War Prisoners, and the City of Banja Luka also laid wreaths.

This act once again showed deep respect and gratitude to those who gave their lives for the security and freedom of our people.
